MODU
We designed a book for MODU Architecture—Phu Hoang, and Rachely Rotem. The book showcases their research, built work, and interviews. Their concept of indoor urbanism merges the opposing scales of urbanism and interiors and looks at exchanges between architecture and the city. The book is divided into three sections: Public Floor, Incomplete Whole, and Second Nature with corresponding research based in New York, Italy, and Tokyo. Case studies of their built work is interspersed. We imagined the book experience to be evocative of walking through these projects and ideas: the typical book structure is inverted with the glossary at the front and the foreword at the back; and the grid morphs as you meander through.
