MGMT. designed this exhibition which was a direct reference to an exhibition staged by the same gallery in 1980 called Dialectics of Isolation, a show that exclusively included "Third World" female artists. Radical for its time and still resonant with today's issues, we created multiple points of engagement for the visitor as well as multiple points of dialogue between the two points in history.
The identity used two subtle but distinctive typographic voices and incorporated curvelinear arrows and annotations. Two-sided labels with texts from then and now were suspended from the ceiling and had their own movement and shadows in the space.
Ian also hand bound each and every publication...yep.
